Warriors Arise: June 26, 2021
Matthew 4:8-10 (NKJV) Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9 And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.”
10 Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ”
I can't figure out why I am having such a difficult time writing today's blog. I am definitely sleep deprived. I am really counting on God to intervene in a situation for tomorrow (today, when you read this.) Then to be reading this passage. I really have a dislike for the Tempter. He thinks he has everything, "All these things I will give you if you will fall down and worship me." It is as if he is speaking those to me. If I will surrender my loyalty to my God then he will make sure things work out in my favor tomorrow. (I just scoff/laughed while shaking my head!) The Tempter is such a liar!
I am a little edgy because of the stress and fatigue of this week. It isn't over yet. I hope you will not misinterpret what I am about to share.
John 8:44 (NKJV) You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.
Whether things work out the way I hope, it isn't going to be the devil, father of lies, the Tempter, who is going to work things in my favor. But I do know the One who can work things out in my favor. He does so because He loves me. He loves every one of His children and oddly enough, He loves those who curse Him and reject His love. Keep in mind, when Jesus died, He took on the sin of ALL mankind. At that time, there wasn't the Christians and the non-Christians. When Jesus sacrificed His life it was so no one would parish. He wanted everyone to have the opportunity to be in relationship with His Father and that would be through the life, death and resurrection He lived.
Romans 8:28 (NKJV) And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
I don't know if things will work tomorrow/today are according to the will of God but I do know that God is able and if He makes a way then it is a gift from Him. Because, honestly, there is no way. Only God can intervene. But He delights in His children and there are times He makes a way just beucsae He loves us. Just like you and I bend over backwards for our kids. We look at the situation and tell them, "This isn't going to work. I am sorry." But then we go and really take a look. Is there something we can adjust to make this happen? They really want to do this and I really want to try and make it happen.
Maybe I am the only parent who does that but I don't think so. I learned it from God. His love is amazing and His love makes a way for the things that not only benefit us but delight us. I will l
Psalms 37:4-5 (NKJV)
Delight yourself also in the Lord,
And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
5 Commit your way to the Lord,
Trust also in Him,
And He shall bring it to pass.
I believe I can ask for the impossible. I love the Lord. I am NOT perfect but I do love the Lord. I know what I am asking is a long shot but if I didn't ask then I didn't even give God the chance to intervene. So I will ask and see what He will do.
If He doesn't shift things to work out for my heart's desire I am NOT going to get mad at God. There are times my kids ask for something, I just can't make happen. This isn't that God can't make it happen. This is about what is best for me. There are times when it isn't that He doesn't want to give me what I am asking but that He isn't for other reasons. Honestly, it will probably be that I will have to be in tune with the Holy Spirit and make a call or a stop at just the right time. If I ignore the Holy Spirit then I will have missed God setting me up to get what I am asking. So tomorrow/today, I will be listening for the Holy Spirit.
I will NOT be tempted to ask the devil because he "thinks" all these things are his to control and command. That is a lie from the pit of hell. I will not even entertain him. He cannot sit at my table. I will be feasting with the Lord and listening for the Holy Spirit to lead me. Jesus a led into the wilderness by the Holy Spirit. Don't you think the Holy Spirit was empowering Jesus with what to say to the Tempter?
I will position myself tomorrow/today to listen to the Holy Spirit and make the call when He says and see what God will do to make a way for my request to be answered the way my heart desires. If not, I will NOT bow down and worship the devil nor will I be upset with God. If it works out, I will be celebrating even doing a happy dance with a jig! If not, I will continue on my way, praising God and trusting He knows what is best. Which means I will not sulk, be irritable, or miserable to be around. I will honor the Lord and look for the blessing in His decision.
Father, You know my heart's desire. I know You delight in giving what my heart desires. I ask for You to make a way for my request to be a yes. I ask for You to open the closed doors. I ask for Your Holy Spirit to speak to me so I know when to place the call or go in. I ask for You to work things in my favor. I am Your child and Your love for be abounds. The devil is a liar and I will not even entertain his demand for my worship. My loyalties are already give to You. Your love for me amazes me every day. You are my light. In You I put my trust in all things. I ask for You to work ahead in lining up my request. I ask for the Holy Spirit to guide me and speak specifically. I ask for my ears to be open and I would be able to respond immediately in Jesus' name amen.
