Warriors Arise: July 3, 2021
Matthew 4:8-11 (NKJV) Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9 And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.”
10 Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ”
11 Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.
One of the things we hear people say of Jesus in His 3 and 1/2 years of ministry on earth, "He spoke with authority". Jesus didn't beg Satan to leave Him alone. Jesus didn't say, "Please, will you go and pick on someone else." Jesus didn't shout, "I'm tired of this" and turn and walk away stomping. No, Jesus told Satan to leave. Jesus ended the temptation trial. This was meaningless. Satan wasn't going to "get it". He didn't know who He was talking to. He didn't understand that Jesus was waiting on him. Jesus gave him fare warning that their was a new ruler on the earth and Satan's time was coming to an end. Jesus waited 40 days and 40 nights to begin this confrontation.
When was the last time anyone commanded Satan to leave? Sure, there might have been some who tried but Jesus succeeded. When had Satan left because someone told him to leave. I'm guessing the last time this happened was when he was thrown out of heaven by God Himself. You would think, the tone in Jesus' voice would have taken him back to that day. I guess Satan can be in denial just like we can. We can think, this can't be happening. When in fact it is happening in techno color right before our eyes. But we don't want it to happen so we tell our ourselves it isn't possible. However, the truth is in the reality.
Jesus had commanded Satan to leave. Was Satan in shock? Was he baffled? What he trying to tell himself, this can't possibly be the Son of God? He never answered my question. If it was the Son of God, why didn't He use His power. It can't be the Son of God, why would He be dressed like that? Why wouldn't He be on the throne in Rome? That tone, He used that tone. The same one God used when I was cast out of heaven. How can this be? It can't be. No, this man can't be the Son of God.
Jesus never said who He was. But He did demonstrate the authority given to Him, operated in the character of God's Son, and controlled the battlefield the entire conversation. There are time we don't need to answer the question, "Are you a Christian"?
We need to demonstrate our authority as God's child.
We need to make decision based on the character of our Savior.
We need to control the battlefield of the entire conversation with the counsel fo the Holy Spirit.
Authority comes with confidence in knowing who we are followed by knowing God has got our back. Jesus could have called on the angels to save Him but He didn't need to. We can get snookered into engaging in battle that isn't on our terms. God has made us His children and we are ambassadors, speaking on His behalf. Therefore, we have the authority of God when we speak according to His Word.
Character is demonstrated when our actions are based off of deicison that will glorify God and not ourselves. Jesus didn't have to tell Satan who He was. Jesus continued to point Satan to God's Word. He continued to point out, God is the One who gets all of our glory and honor forever and ever amen. I remember when W.W.J.D. was on bracelets, t-shirts, necklaces etc. What Would Jesus Do? It was powerful to those who would remember to ask the question. The idea was to ask the question before making a decision. It strengthen a person's character because they learned to seek God before going forward. Before stepping into temptation they would avoid it when they remembered to ask, "What would Jesus do?" and follow Jesus' example.
Control of the battlefield means we deflect the attacks of the enemy. Our shield is held high and the Spirit of God surrounds us entirely. God places a hedge of protection around us as it says in Psalm 139:5. I have never felt more in the midst of a battlefield than when our daughter had ALL Leukemia. We were in the midst of an all out war for her life! It was a hell I wouldn't wish upon those who have done me wrong. In the midst of going from a bad situation to worse and if things could get more disastrous they did. The doctors having to tell you the worst case scenario at every move they made was a suffocating avalanche. Then the feelings of abandonment by those you thought you could count on for support became silent. Finally, the people who felt we needed to be grounded and face the facts that she was going to die were overwhelming. But God, would not allow my faith to waver. Yes, I saw all the affects of my daughter dying right before my eyes.
But God said to fix my eyes on Him.
But God said to declare His Word over her every morning and every night.
But God said, "Believe Me and My report."
But God said, "Worship Me even when it hurts. Worship Me even when the report is not good. Worship Me when there is no answer. Worship Me when you have nothing left in you." So, we made a playlist of worship music that played 24/7. The Holy Spirit unsealed us on how to control the battlefield and by God's grace, we won! Lydia is completely cancer free!
It was15 months on intense battle. But God prevailed, the Holy Spirit strengthened us. For in our weakness He was strong. Jesus kept us seeking to make decisions based on the demonstrative power of our God, se we follow Jesus' example. Our decisions would be based on the demonstrative power of our God.
Today is part 55 of Today is Your Day. The number 5 means grace in Scripture. 55 being double grace reminds me of the following verse.
John 1:16-17 (NKJV) And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. 17 For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
The footnote in my Bible for this verse: The fact that John states that grace comes from His fullness teaches that grace is more than God's disposition or impersonal favor. It is God meeting us at our point of need in the Person of Jesus Christ, including all His power and provision. (New Spirit-filled Life Bible)
God had been teaching me about His grace 18 months before Lydia was diagnosed. We needed a Savior. He had already saved our soul. Lydia had given her life to Jesus 3 years before the diagnosis. However, we needed Jesus to come and save her from the attack of the enemy. He was not just after her life, he was after her destiny. He wanted Lydia to give up on God's plans for her life. He was threatened by what God would do through her. Did you know Lydia means one who is plucked from the fire? A firebrand? Did you know the verse God spoke to Lydia after she was diagnosed was Daniel 3.
Daniel 3:26 (NKJV) Then Nebuchadnezzar went near the mouth of the burning fiery furnace and spoke, saying, “Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, servants of the Most High God, come out, and come here.” Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego came from the midst of the fire.
The day we were given a room at the hospital, Lydia had been a sleep and woke up to tell me she was Shadrach, I was Meshach and Daddy was Abed-Nego. We put Daniel 3 before us throughout the battle. I knew when she shared God was not going to instantly heal her as we had prayed but we were going into the fiery furnace turned up 7 times hotter just for us. But I also knew, Jesus would be walking with us. We would have grace upon grace. Jesus would meet us at our point of need with His power and provision.
God had been teaching me about grace 18 month before Lydia's diagnosis. We named our youngest child Charis Grace. She is our 5th child. God revealed to me on May 5th that I was pregnant with her. Charis means grace in Greek. She is Grace Grace. God began preparing me for what was about to come. I studied grace from the point I knew I was pregnant with Charis. God wanted me ready for the battle that was to come. He would allow it but He would not let it overtake us. His grace was sufficient then and still today.
Jesus was prepared for Satan and his temptations. God had given Him the Holy Spirit. Even though the Holy Spirit led Him into the wilderness it wasn't for Jesus' testing, it was for Jesus to exercise His authority over Satan. The unraveling of Satan's domain had begun whether he wanted to admit it or not. He could not stop the plans of God.
Today is your day to apply the grace of God in your life, in your situation. your's may not be a life and death situation but it may be a life and death of the plans God has for your to fulfill. Today is your day to receive the understanding of God's grace through Jesus Christ and win over the threats of the enemy. Do not allow him to lull you into giving up Your destiny. He tried to get Jesus to fall down and worship him because it would have voided the purpose for which Jesus was sent. Jesus would not give up His destiny to fall and worship Satan. He would take nothing from the hand of Satan. Satan had nothing to give Him that God hadn't already promised. Today, started the day of Jesus living the reality of God's promise. Today is your day to live the reality of what God has put in your to do.
Father, you are amazing in all of Your ways. It is difficult to face Satan, yet when I do You are with Me. You go before me. You prepare my heart. You send me with the Holy Spirit who gives counsel on the battle plans. You are for me to defeat the devil. You give me wisdom to know what to say and what to do. You give me renewed purpose for the plans You have placed inside of me. You are my God and I will not fall and worship another. You are my Savior pulling me out of the fire. You are my deliverer as I release the authority You have place within me. I will be led by the Spirit and fulfill the destiny You have given me in Jesus' name amen.

The above picture is at Lydia's 100 day celebration. Most ALL Leukemia bone morrow transplant people do not make it to their 100th day. The doctors had told us to have a celebration, make it a big deal because it is a big deal. She was about to turn 8 and weighed what a healthy 3 year old would weigh. In that picture, she has 5 layers of clothes on. God is faithful. We call out, "Grace, Grace" And the mountain is cast into the sea (Zechariah 4:7).
My hope is for Believers in Jesus Christ to join together each day to pray, to push back the enemy as we release God’s power here on earth against the coronavirus, riots, and lies. The prayers will be listed each day as Warriors Arise. I will put a
date with it so we can keep them straight. If you have any questions please feel free to make a comment or private message me. If you would like this to come to your email directly please go to verideehand.com and subscribe.
