Warriors Arise: July 12, 2021
Revelation 12:10-11 (NKJV) Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.
Our youngest, Charis, went to Jr. Girls' IRBC three weeks ago for the first time. Even though within the family she is quite the card, she doesn't really like to be upon front of people. She loves to sing, but not on stage. She knows the songs, but she gets incredibly nervous. You wouldn't know this about her becuase she really likes people. She interacts very well with all ages. She really enjoys being with people, just not up in front where she can be singled out.
Yesterday, she took the stage at church to tell about her camp experience. She told us how God gave her courage to go down the zip line twice. She gave us her favorite verse of the week. After she shared that she was completely at ease and continued to share.
It can be so difficult to be vulnerable about our weaknesses in front of people. But when we put ourselves, our fears, to the side we give way for the Spirit to give us courage. When we operate in the courage the Spirit gives us, we can testify of God's goodness in our life. This is the last part of verse 11, and they did not love their lives to the death. It can be applied to our fear of standing in front of people sharing what God has done or leading worship.
Charis made it to the stage, next to her Daddy. Then she couldn't get started. Scott asked her a question and she barely lifted her head to see the people. Then like a firecracker a spark came and she began to share without Scott prompting her. She was finished with all she had written down and wanted to share a couple more things. Her testimony began to pour out for all to hear, the middle of verse 11, by the word of their testimony.
Charis gave her life to Jesus, asking Him to be her Lord and Savior nearly 6 years ago. She is protected by the blood of the Lamb. She overcame fear because of Christ in her; therefore she receive courage to testify of what God had done in her life while at camp. Then the rest of our kids were called up to share their testimony of going to Guatemala. They did a fantastic job. Selah who is incredibly shy on and off the stage did a fantastic job. I am so proud of how each one prepared themselves to share their testimony then embraced the opportunity to testify. Scott will be sharing the video on his Facebook page if you would like to watch.
Today is your day to know how to share your testimony. Your testimony is your point of knowing when you needed God in your life or in a particular situation, share how He met you, empowered you, or made a way out, then your willingness to follow His lead.
2 Corinthians 2:14 (NKJV) Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.
When you testify the fragrance of His knowledge is diffused for others to receive what they need to overcome the enemy, rise up out of the trial, take down their adversary, and walk away from the things that imprisoned them. Today is your day to share what God has done in your life. Daily He is active in your life. Ask Him to show you where. Then give Him thanks for stepping in. Testify of the goodness of our God. His love overflows to you and through you.
Father, I ask for You to come and bring life to me. Breathe Your peace into me. Fear tries to steal my voice and sabotage the opportunity You have given me to testify of what You have done in life. I ask for You to come and minister Your love, washing over my mind and restoring my strength. You give me courage to make my words meaningful. You have protected me from my enemy and lifted me out of the mire. You have restored my soul and redeemed the time I have wasted. You have given me purpose and called me to stand with You. I will worship You and give You praise. I will not step back from the opportunity to testify of what You have done in my life. I will see what You do daily and testify to encourage others to receive my word of testimony and believe for all You would have for them in Jesus' name amen.
