Warriors Arise: April 8, 2023
1 Chronicles 16:7-29 (NKJV) On that day David first delivered this psalm into the hand of Asaph and his brethren, to thank the Lord:
8 Oh, give thanks to the Lord!
Call upon His name;
Make known His deeds among the peoples!
9 Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him;
Talk of all His wondrous works!
10 Glory in His holy name;
Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord!
11 Seek the Lord and His strength;
Seek His face evermore!
12 Remember His marvelous works which He has done,
His wonders, and the judgments of His mouth,
13 O seed of Israel His servant,
You children of Jacob, His chosen ones!
14 He is the Lord our God;
His judgments are in all the earth.
15 Remember His covenant forever,
The word which He commanded, for a thousand generations,
16 The covenant which He made with Abraham,
And His oath to Isaac,
17 And confirmed it to Jacob for a statute,
To Israel for an everlasting covenant,
18 Saying, “To you I will give the land of Canaan
As the allotment of your inheritance,”
19 When you were few in number,
Indeed very few, and strangers in it.
20 When they went from one nation to another,
And from one kingdom to another people,
21 He permitted no man to do them wrong;
Yes, He rebuked kings for their sakes,
22 Saying, “Do not touch My anointed ones,
And do My prophets no harm.”
23 Sing to the Lord, all the earth;
Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day.
24 Declare His glory among the nations,
His wonders among all peoples.
25 For the Lord is great and greatly to be praised;
He is also to be feared above all gods.
26 For all the gods of the peoples are idols,
But the Lord made the heavens.
27 Honor and majesty are before Him;
Strength and gladness are in His place.
28 Give to the Lord, O families of the peoples,
Give to the Lord glory and strength.
29 Give to the Lord the glory due His name;
Bring an offering, and come before Him.
How the Lord works things out baffles my mind. I did not time these Scriptures or the pace at which we go through them. I pray, listen to the Lord then write what He is revealing. "Give the Lord the glory due His name," for that to fall on the day after we celebrate His death on the cross. Today, while we await the celebration of His resurrection will you give the Lord the glory dues His name? As we remember what He did nearly 2,000 years ago, we know He defeats the devil and sets the captives free. This is the glory due His name. Each act of mercy, grace, power, kindness and love should compel us to give glory to His name.
How? How will you give the Lord the glory due His name? What does that look like? How is it expressed? How are you going to gloriously give due to His name? If someone were to hear you or see you would they say, "Wow, look at them, look how they gloriously give due to the Lord!"
Maybe people do not know our God, because we do not know how to give Him the glory due His name. Today, I would encourage you to seek the Lord and ask Him what it would look like for His people, for you, to give Him the glory due His name. Then I encourage you to do it. Be bold. Be honoring. Be unashamed to give the glory due to the Lord.
Father, I desire to know how I am to give You glory. I desire to learn what to do to give you glory. It isn't to make a show for others; but if they are watching, I want them to know and recognize the glory I am giving to Your name. I testify of Your greatness and what You have done. I magnify Your name. You are majestic and true in all of Your ways. I do not want to hide or be hidden. I want to live in such a way that You are glorified. I want people to know of Your goodness and Your marvelous acts of kindness, grace and mercy. Teach me, how I am to give glory to Your name. Show me how I am to give glory to Your name. You are worthy of all my praise and I will honor You in Jesus' name amen.
