Warriors Arise: April 20, 2023
1 Chronicles 16:7-35 (NKJV) 7 On that day David first delivered this psalm into the hand of Asaph and his brethren, to thank the Lord:
8 Oh, give thanks to the Lord!
Call upon His name;
Make known His deeds among the peoples!
9 Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him;
Talk of all His wondrous works!
10 Glory in His holy name;
Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord!
11 Seek the Lord and His strength;
Seek His face evermore!
12 Remember His marvelous works which He has done,
His wonders, and the judgments of His mouth,
13 O seed of Israel His servant,
You children of Jacob, His chosen ones!
14 He is the Lord our God;
His judgments are in all the earth.
15 Remember His covenant forever,
The word which He commanded, for a thousand generations,
16 The covenant which He made with Abraham,
And His oath to Isaac,
17 And confirmed it to Jacob for a statute,
To Israel for an everlasting covenant,
18 Saying, “To you I will give the land of Canaan
As the allotment of your inheritance,”
19 When you were few in number,
Indeed very few, and strangers in it.
20 When they went from one nation to another,
And from one kingdom to another people,
21 He permitted no man to do them wrong;
Yes, He rebuked kings for their sakes,
22 Saying, “Do not touch My anointed ones,
And do My prophets no harm.”
23 Sing to the Lord, all the earth;
Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day.
24 Declare His glory among the nations,
His wonders among all peoples.
25 For the Lord is great and greatly to be praised;
He is also to be feared above all gods.
26 For all the gods of the peoples are idols,
But the Lord made the heavens.
27 Honor and majesty are before Him;
Strength and gladness are in His place.
28 Give to the Lord, O families of the peoples,
Give to the Lord glory and strength.
29 Give to the Lord the glory due His name;
Bring an offering, and come before Him.
Oh, worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness!
30 Tremble before Him, all the earth.
The world also is firmly established,
It shall not be moved.
31 Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad;
And let them say among the nations, “The Lord reigns.”
32 Let the sea roar, and all its fullness;
Let the field rejoice, and all that is in it.
33 Then the trees of the woods shall rejoice before the Lord,
For He is coming to judge the earth.
34 Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever.
35 And say, “Save us, O God of our salvation;
Gather us together, and deliver us from the Gentiles,
To give thanks to Your holy name,
To triumph in Your praise.”
I just can't move on. Today, I am having an overwhelming sense of unity. It is vitaly important for Christians to stand together. Which means we cannot get caught up in the differences caused by where we are in our personal relationship with God. We must continue to grow what we know. We must invest back into the business. Someone who owns a business knows they can't pocket all the profit. Why? Because they have to invest in the business for the business to continue to produce a profit. If we want our relationship with God to continue to grow, we can't just be receivers of all God has promised us, we have to use some of what we have received to invest back into our relationship with God. For instance,
When God blesses you with a gift or talent, do you use it to glorify God.
When God blesses you with finances, do you invest in kingdom advancement?
When God blesses you with relationships, do you stir each other up in doing the great exploits God has called you to?
When God has blesses you with a testimony after the trial, do you give a witness of what God has done to those who need to hear it, especially those outside of the walls fo the church?
When God has restored your health or gotten you through a surgery, do you give Him honor and praise personally and then sharing what God has done with others?
When God has protected you from a disaster or gotten you through it, do you give Him praise, do you share your testimony with others?
Through our testimony of what God has done in our lives, to profit us, restoring our health, blessing us with gifts and talents, bring people around us and heal our bodies, we are to share with others. What God has done for you and I, He will do for others. God is for us to prosper; body, soul, and spirit. It is not prideful for us to prosper. It is God's desire for us. Everyone has difficult and devastating events in life, but we are not to camp out at those events. Like an event, they have an end time and we are to receive His healing and provision to move on. We are to be different than the world. We have hope because we have Jesus. We have a way out because God goes before us. We are protected from behind, because God is our rearguard. We are to testify of what God has done and is doing and will do to give hope to those who do not know the gracious, demonstrative love of our God. We must put out of our mind the ridiculous idea that giving testimony of what God has done is prideful. Paul says he does not boast of himself but of Christ in him (that is a complete study for another time, but you can look in 1 and 2 Corinthians). If we attack Christians for boasting about what God has done then we, the attackers, are the ones opposing God. As Christians what brings us life? How do we live?
Revelation 12:11 (NKJV) And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.
We overcome the devil by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony. When we hide what God has done in our life and make it all about ourselves or what people will think of us, if we boast of what God has done, we are loving our lives instead of loving God.
Why would people come to God? Think of it this way, people want to be friends with people who you speak highly of or have accomplished something or can help them in some way. I have just described God. God has done something in everyone of our lives that we can speak highly of. God has accomplished the unthinkable by sacrificing His Son, so everyone could have the opportunity to be a part of His family. God has helped each one of us in some way. He has helped me every day. Stop taking credit for what God has done and empowered you to do. Taking credit for what God has done is selfish. Taking credit for what God has empowered you to do is prideful and arrogant.
I will boast of what God has done in my life. It isn't about me. It is about what He has done in my life that will give hope to what He can and will do in another's life. Fellow Child of God, it is time for us to stand together. It is time for us to see what God has done in our lives and give Him honor, glory and praise. It is time for us to share with others what God has done. When you and I believe God will do for them what He has done for us, it removes the feeling of boasting. However, if you believe God did for you because you earned it or have special privileges then you are in pride. That pride is a trap keeping you from testifying of God. People need to hear what God has done. They need to know God demonstrates His love everyday. He does the miraculous. He empowers the weak. He heals the sick. Nothing is too difficult for our God. Let us see what God has done in our lives and boast about our God. Together, we stand to give God glory, honor and praise so the world will put away their lifeless gods and know Him and worship Him.
Father, I will not hide what You have done in my life. I will boast about You. I want people to know Your goodness. I want them receive Your love. I want them to believe You will meet them right where they are and walk them out of the pit. I want them to know Your greatness. I never want to forget what You have done for me; therefore, by way of reminder, I will share, testify and boast of You. I will give hope to the hopeless. They will know You. They will know You will meet, redeem and restore them. I praise Your Holy Name for You are good. Your love is beyond my comprehension. Your love has redeemed my life and I will share of your amazing love. I pray people will be drawn to You through the testimony of my words. I will lift Your name and praise You. I pray for others to see and receive Your love in Jesus' name amen.
