Victory is Our's

Warriors Arise: February 19, 2022

Psalms 25:1-2 (NKJV) To You, O Lord, I lift up my soul. 2 O my God, I trust in You;

Let me not be ashamed;

Let not my enemies triumph over me.

I am led in triumph when the battle rages against me.

Pslam 25 has a resounding call for God to act. I learned a song based upon this Scripture when I went to IRBC for summer church camp. The song was sung with an echo part. I have never heard the song anywhere else. That particular summer our cabin sang this song long after lights out. We split into different parts and it was so amazing with the room filled with our call out to God. Lights were turned out on time; however, we continued to sing. The night security came to our door and knock on it to get our attention then spoke through the door, "Lights out, girls." We were quiet for a few minutes, probably until we thought he walked away and then began to sing again. After the third time through the song, he came back and knocked a little louder and with a firm voice told us we had to stop singing, lights out meant we had to be quiet.

We were oblivious to the rooms around us. There was a room to our left and right and one above us. Maybe they had insisted that we be quiet. Our counselors finally called out to us in the dark to stop. The song continued to reverberate through my soul captivate every thought and establish God's power within my life.

When my oldest was a toddler she wasn't feeling well. I began to sing to her. I sang the song I had learned more than 25 years earlier. I do not recall singing that song since camp but when my daughter was in pain the song came to my mind.

I have sung that song hundreds of times to my kids when they are in pain, hurt or scared or when they just want me to sing to them at night after tucking them into bed. It is a favorite and they have all learned to sing it. Maybe later today I will get them to sing it with me on Facebook so you can hear the tune. There is such power in the Word of God especially when it is put to music. I love the Old Testament reference to calling for God to lead us into triumph. It has been my courage to boldly approach God with my petitions. I find myself singing this song when the enemy rages against me. However, something changes in me when I embrace that same power within God resides in me because I have Christ in me.

2 Corinthians 2:14 (NKJV) Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.

Through us, Christ diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. We do not need to feel inferior or less than. We, who are in Christ, are being led to victory. We walk in the victory Christ gave us when He died and rose again. Christ holds the power over our adversary and we have Christ in us; therefore, we win. We are the victors, because of Christ we are triumphant.

I am led in triumph when the battle rages against me.

Father, I ask for You to come and minister Your life to us. I pray for an understanding of the battle already being won. I pray for the knowledge of having the ability to walk in freedom. No matter what has happened to me, You have made a way for me to walk in victory. I will not be held captive by the enemy any longer. I will not submit to the sinful nature. I am a new creation in Christ. My sins are as far as the East is from the West. The things of this world that have ensnared me will no longer have a grip on me. I will walk in the victory Jesus died and rose again to give me. I am Your's and I live with Christ in me. I will walk in triumph and free the captives with the truth of Your powerful love in Jesus' name amen.
