Victory is Ours

Warriors Arise: December 5, 2020

1 Samuel 30:17 (NKJV) Then David attacked them from twilight until the evening of the next day. Not a man of them escaped, except four hundred young men who rode on camels and fled.

"Young men" stands out to me. In my mind I would think the young men are more agile, ready to get into the fight, and wanting to prove themselves. But in this passage, young men fled. Maybe they were not seasoned warriors, battle ready. They were "wet behind the ears." Someone might have described them as "green." Meaning they were not ripe, not skilled, not mentally or physically ready for battle. Maybe the young men were hirelings. Maybe they joined the Amalekites for their raiding though the southern region, but were only going to fight when they were the predator and not the prey. For whatever reason, David and his men did not pursue them. They did not see the young men as a threat.

The Scripture tells us not a man of them escaped, so the seasoned, battle ready warriors of the Amalekites did not live to tell of the battle. God had given David and promise. God told them to pursue, overtake and recover all.

We are to stand and fight the enemy but if he flees, we let him run; but he choses to stick round we are to take him out.

Take courage my friend, the Lord God is with you wherever you go! (Declare this for yourself, where you struggle to believe ask God to give you understanding and receive from Him all that He is for you.)

My God will lead me into victory! His lovingkingness endures forever in my life. His peace is the source of my strength. He is the Living Water that refreshes my body, soul and spirit. He is the Bread of Life when I am faint. He is the Rock upon which I take my stand. He is the Anchor that holds me steady. He is the Life Giver of all who battle sickness and disease. He the Overcomer who teaches me to overcome my adversary. He is the One who lifts my head when I have been cast down. He is the One Who rejoices over me. He is the One Who finds me when I am lost. He is the One Who restores my soul. He is the Just Judge Who makes the enemy pay restitution. He is the King Who reigns for the freedom of all people. He is the Shepherd Who leads me home. He is the Lord Who establishes His people. He is my God and I will honor Him in Jesus' name amen.

A Warrior in the Lord’s Army,

My hope is for Believers in Jesus Christ to join together each day to pray, to push back the enemy as we release God’s power here on earth against the coronavirus, riots, and lies. The prayers will be listed each day as Warriors Arise. I will put a date with it so we can keep them straight. If you have any questions please feel free to make a comment or private message me.
