Wait For Us

Warriors Arise: November 27, 2021

Exodus 19:20 - 20:1 (NKJV) Then the Lord came down upon Mount Sinai, on the top of the mountain. And the Lord called Moses to the top of the mountain, and Moses went up.

21 And the Lord said to Moses, “Go down and warn the people, lest they break through to gaze at the Lord, and many of them perish. 22 Also let the priests who come near the Lord consecrate themselves, lest the Lord break out against them.” 23 But Moses said to the Lord, “The people cannot come up to Mount Sinai; for You warned us, saying, ‘Set bounds around the mountain and consecrate it.’ ” 24 Then the Lord said to him, “Away! Get down and then come up, you and Aaron with you. But do not let the priests and the people break through to come up to the Lord, lest He break out against them.” 25 So Moses went down to the people and spoke to them.

20:1 And God spoke all these words…(The Ten Commandments)

Scripture doesn't say what Moses said to the people but he must have taken care of business and returned to God. Chapter 20 picks up with God speaking forth the ten commandments. God didn't leave when Moses went down to address the people.

  • God told Moses to go warn the people.

  • Moses went and warned the people.

  • God waited.

  • Moses returned.

  • God spoke.

God wants you to come back. I'm a little emotional writing this one. There are times I didn't want to leave God's presence. I didn't want to take care of matters outside of my God zone. I was hurting, unstable, and in need of His touch. I needed Him to touch my mind, so it would stop whirling. I needed Him to touch my heart, so it would not be crushed or ripped apart. I needed Him to touch my body, because the pain was excruciating. I needed Him to touch my emotions, because I wasn't sure I couldn't handle what was going on outside my God place. But God said go, so I went.

I didn't want to leave His presence, because I didn't know if He would still be there when I got back. I was sure things would not pick up where they left off. But I was wrong, because God is faithful. Every time He sent me to take care of something, He would be waiting for my return. When God sends you out to take care of something do you think your time with Him is over? Or do you return as soon as matters are settled?

Father, I look to You. When you tell me to go away it isn't because You are rejecting me. You need to me take care of matters. Too many times I didn't realize You were waiting for me to return. I went and took care of matters, but never returned or not until the next day. I got distracted with the ordeal and for any number of reasons I didn't make it back to You. I ask to be forgiven for not returning. You were waiting on me. We were not done. You were helping me head something off that was headed in a disastrous direction. Will You forgive me for getting caught up in the situation instead of settling it? Will You forgive me for getting so worked up that I forgot You were waiting on me? I am thankful Your mercies are new every morning. Thank You for being here when I return, even when it isn't until the next day. I look forward to being with You and will return whenI have taken care of the situation. You are faithful to be here and I will be faithful to return in Jesus' name amen.
