Warriors Arise: February 24, 2023
1 Chronicles 16:1 (NKJV) So they brought the ark of God, and set it in the midst of the tabernacle that David had erected for it.
1 Chronicles 15:1 (NKJV) David built houses for himself in the City of David; and he prepared a place for the ark of God, and pitched a tent for it.
We are also known as the temple, the tent, the house of the Holy Spirit. When we receive Jesus as our Savior and Lord, we are then God's children and Holy Spirit resides within us. We become the tabernacle, the tent, the house of Holy Spirit.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (NKJV) Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's.
We are God's tent. We are to erect, build, establish God in our life. I stand amazed that the God of the universe, the One who created me, wants to live within me. He doesn't want me to be apart of Him. His love abounds from the moment He fashioned me in my mother's womb. He had plans for me and a purpose He desires for me to fulfill. He knows I will need Holy Spirit within me to live the abundant life, Jesus died to give me. He desires for me to receive understanding of this privilege. We are privileged to be the temple of the Holy Spirit.
Holy Spirit is to be as established in our life as a building with brick and mortar. However, we are here but a moment in God's time. When David pitched a tent for the ark of the Lord, it speaks volumes into the mobility of God. It takes me back to the Children of Israel in the wilderness. God met them in the wilderness. In a time of need, in a time of desperation, in a time of uncertainty, God met them. God met them in the wilderness. He established His desire to be in their presence, while they were in the wilderness.
We can think that when we make it to our desired place in life, that is when we will establish God in our life. We can think, I don't have time for God right now, that will be a later time, when I have fulfilled what I am called to do. That couldn't be further from God's plan for us. He calls us and wants to be a part of the fulfillment of what He has called us to do.
In the wilderness, God had them build a tent, a tabernacle for Him. He had them make it from cloth. They packed up the tent, carried it and pitched it when the cloud by day or the fire by night stopped. God knows how to lead His people. God established Himself in the midst of His people. God has specific placement of each tribe around the tent, the Tabernacle of the Lord. God was in the center of His people.
We, as the temple of the Holy Spirit, are to establish Him in the center of everything that we are and everything we do. We are to establish, build, erect God in the core of our being and live from that place. That place nurtures what we believe, who we will become, where we will go, and how we will accomplish God's purpose. We are the Temple of the Holy Spirit. Is He your center?
Father, I am who You say I am. I am the Temple of the Holy Spirit. I will listen to Holy Spirit. I am grateful You desire for Holy Spirit to dwell within me. Even though He is not a cloud by day or a pillar of fire by night, I will listen and follow the Holy Spirit. Jesus said He would send a Helper. He had Holy Spirit when He walked this earth. I will embrace Holy Spirit for my time on earth. I will honor Holy Spirit by listening and following. Holy Spirit is amazing. He will lead, direct, counsel, and encourage me to be all You have called me to be and direct my path. I am the tent of Holy Spirit and I will honor Him in Jesus' name amen.
