Warriors Arise: May 8, 2021
Daniel 6:25-28 (NKJV) Then King Darius wrote: To all peoples, nations, and languages that dwell in all the earth: Peace be multiplied to you. 26 I make a decree that in every dominion of my kingdom men must tremble and fear before the God of Daniel. For He is the living God, And steadfast forever; His kingdom is the one which shall not be destroyed, And His dominion shall endure to the end. 27 He delivers and rescues, And He works signs and wonders In heaven and on earth, Who has delivered Daniel from the power of the lions. 28 So this Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.
Compared to the first few weeks maybe months of Darius' reign, what else compares to experiencing the living God as he had? There is a jump from verse 27 to verse 28. In this jump, is the reign of Darius. But what can compare to what God just did?!
This is an incredible event. Darius was a part of a move of God. Even though he wanted Daniel to be saved somehow, someway. He couldn't find a way. So he did what he knew Daniel to do. Darius positioned himself before Daniel's God. Darius petitioned for Daniel's life. He was desperately hoping Daniel would be alive when the stone was rolled away.
I wonder when Darius heard Daniel respond, if his knees buckled, as his energy had been spent and the burden lifted, or if energy surged within him as he gave the command to get Daniel out? God saved Daniel from the powerful lions. Darius would give honor where honor was due. He was swift to act by commanding Daniel to be lifted out. He then commanded those who had accused Daniel to be cast in to the lions' den. But that wasn't enough. What else could be done, should be done?
Darius could not deny the truth about Daniel's God. Daniel's God is the living God. He witnessed something truly amazing, something totally mind boggling, something only the one true God could do. He witnessed life being preserved; because Daniel was found innocent by his God. There is no way to explain it, but there had to be a way to let everyone know the miracle of which He had just be a part. What else could Darius do?
God had done what Darius had wanted, now what could Darius do? When God does the miraculous in our life what should our response be?
Gratitude
Gratefulness
Thankfulness
Praise
Worship
Faithfulness
Loyalty
Is that how we are responding toward God? It isn't a matter of whether God has done the miraculous in your life, it is a matter of how you responded. I truly believe God has worked miracles in each and everyone of our lives. The problem: we do not respond accordingly. When we do not respond appropriately we forget. We forget what God has done because we did not acknowledge His involvement, praise Him for what He did, return allegiance for His involvement or renew our covenant with Him. God is relational. When He does a miracle in our lives and we do not respond with loyalty, gratitude, worship and give testimony of His greatness, so we forget the miracle He did.
What do you do with what you have received from God? Darius testified. He told EVERYONE within his domain of the living God, the miraculous of what He did and how the people should respond. We are to testify of the miraculous God has done in our lives. Every time we testify, we are giving honor to God and strengthening our resolve in the relationship.
Father, You have done the miraculous in my life. You have gotten me through many valleys of the shadow of death. You have seated me at Your table in the presence of my enemies. You are anointed my head with oil. You have sent Your angels to shut the mouths of lions. You have routed my enemy before I even arrived at the battle. You are my God. You have made a way for me to prosper in the midst of famine. You have provided when I had nothing. You have strengthened me in my weakness. I will remember what You have done in my life. I will listen to others and encourage them with the love You have given me. I will testify of the wondrous things You have done in my life. I am not bragging about me. I am stirring others up to believe for the miracle they need in their lives. I will testify of Your amazing love in Jesus' name amen.
