When the Herald Calls

Warriors Arise: April 26, 2021

Daniel 6:26-27 (NKJV) I make a decree that in every dominion of my kingdom men must tremble and fear before the God of Daniel. For He is the living God, And steadfast forever; His kingdom is the one which shall not be destroyed, And His dominion shall endure to the end. 27 He delivers and rescues, And He works signs and wonders In heaven and on earth, Who has delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.

Reread that passage but read it as a herald would announce it. Calling it out with the authority of the king, maybe even as an eye witness. Think of how intense you would be in your tone and your intense look in your eyes as you searched for everyone to understand the miraculous that took place. If you were speaking this out as you had heard the king deliver it to the scribes, there would be a pressing for everyone to understand what you were communicating.

Think about how the people who heard you call this decree would be responding. If they hadn't heard about Daniel being cast into the lions' den and come out the next morning without even a scratch, wouldn't they be pushing to get closer to hear you tell the tale? People would be asking questions. Did you hear what he said? This Daniel, was delivered from the power of lions by his God. How do they know? Why was he in the lions' den?

Don't just read the passage of the new decree from Darius, see it being delivered and call it out as if you were the herald. You would want everyone to know what you were about to say. This is a degree for the king; therefore, consequences are generally place for someone who defies a decree. You are giving them a good reason to follow this decree; but it isn't with consequences. It is in their best interest for them to know Daniel's God.

I wonder how many Jews would have heard this decree? I wonder if they knew who Daniel was, that he was one of theirs. Did they know the herald was talking about their God? Do you?

When another fellow believer, a Christian, testifies of the miraculous acts of God do you recognize God?

Do you believe their testimony?

Do you cheer for their victory?

Are you encouraged to know God is saving His people?

Are you strengthened in your resolve to lay hold of the promised God has given to you?

Are you revisiting prayer request you have laid down?

Will you allow their testimony bring life upon dreams you have allowed to go dormant?

Will you renew your relationship with God?

Father, I believe You will do what You have promised. I will not get jealous or disappointed when I hear of another receive their miracle. I will be strengthen by Your kindness being release into their life. I seek You with all of my heart, with all of my mind, and with all of my strength. I will be encouraged when I hear of You saving Your people, protecting them, and calling them out of the disaster that has come upon them. You are making a way for them to be lifted up out of the darkness and restore their position. Your love will act on my behalf. You will bring me out of the darkness. Your love will protect me. You will restore to me what the enemy has stolen. I will seek You and make my request known. I will praise You for all You have done in another's life. You are my God and I will serve no other in Jesus' name amen.
