Where are You Sitting?

Warriors Arise: March 22, 2024

Matthew 10:10-13 When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who followed, “Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel! And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you.” And his servant was healed that same hour.

Those who do not have such great faith as the centurion may have a different place in heaven. It would seem Jesus has a place for those who do not believe as the centurion. They will be cast out into outer darkness. I am guessing, but the reason they are weeping and gnashing their teeth may be because of their brokenness as they realize their folly. When they come to the realization that they came into heaven with the same measure of faith in which they were given on earth.

Romans 12:3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.

Each one of us has been given a measure of faith. However, faith has the ability to grow. Every time we are faced with adversity, we have the choice to suffer through the hardship or we can approach the throne of God and petition for His intervention. Those who pray, seek the Father, listen, are led by the Holy Spirit, and receive the Scripture of promise, will see their faith grow.

The people Jesus is talking about are saved, they just didn't grow their faith. They didn't invest their talents so when the master came back to check on His interest, they had more to give. They are in heaven; however, since they are at the place where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth, they are sitting the furthest from God and still in heaven.

My Father in heaven, hallowed be Your Name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Thank You for allowing me access to You. Thank You for encouraging me to boldly approach the throne. Thank You for hearing my prayers. Thank You for answering my prayers. They may not have been answered how I thought best, but I do know You lead me into triumph. You are my rear guard. You light the fire within me. I trust You. I lay hold of that for which You have laid hold of me. I rest and use my faith to reach onto heaven and release heaven here on earth in Jesus' Name, amen.
