Warriors Arise: June 10, 2023
Matthew 2:19-21 (NKJV) Now when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, 20 saying, “Arise, take the young Child and His mother, and go to the land of Israel, for those who sought the young Child's life are dead.” 21 Then he arose, took the young Child and His mother, and came into the land of Israel.
Joseph responded immediately each time an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to him, why would God change it up? Do you know that is one way God speaks to you? Sure, He can speak to you several different ways, but I am asking about the one way in which you know that you know it was God and you respond immediately, no questions asked.
I would venture to guess most Christian have no idea how God speaks to them.
If He came to them in a dream, they might say it was the pizza they ate before going to bed.
If He came to them in prayer, they might think it is their wandering mind.
If He came to them through Scripture, they wouldn't believe it was for them.
If He came to them through someone speaking a prophetic word, they might discard it because He spoke through a person and not to them personally.
If He came to them during worship, they might be overcome with emotion and unable to move through what they are sensing and into the depth of what God is saying.
Are you certain like Joseph? Do you know how God speaks to you? If you do, then you will respond like Joseph. He responded without hesitation. He didn't need to pray about it. God had told Him what to do. Joseph knew God and the way God spoke to him. Do you?
Father, I open myself up to You. I desire to know exactly how You speak to me. You can speak to me in many different places and forms; however I want to know our way, the way You speak to me. I want to have clarity on Your words to me. I want to be able to know every time You are speaking to me and I want to respond immediately to Your direction. I ask for You to come and confirm the way You speak to me. I pray my ears be open, my heart receptive, and my mind focused on You in Jesus' name amen.
