Warriors Arise: October 16, 2020
John 21:15-18 (NKJV) So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Feed My lambs.” 16 He said to him again a second time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Tend My sheep.” 17 He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?” And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.” Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep.
Simon's walk with Jesus was a life-changer. Jesus asked, Peter responded and Jesus commanded. I often wonder if there was a time lapse between Jesus' question and Peter's response as well as Peter's response and Jesus' command. There was a whole lot going on in those few exchanges. Peter was being freed from the sin of his denial. Jesus was forcing the issue by asking again and again. In the asking Jesus knew He has little time left with the disciples and He needs Peter to be ready for the enormous task and responsibility he is about to be given. But if Peter doesn't grasp ahold of the most pivotal point Jesus is trying to make, he will not be able to fulfill the destiny he was created for.
Everyone can be forgiven when they repent.
Everyone can love the Lord (because He first loved us)
Everyone can fulfill their God-given destiny.
Philippians 3:12-14 (NKJV) Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. 13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
Jesus is telling Simon what is his upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Simon is to feed the lambs, tend the sheep, and feed the sheep. We can only serve God faithfully to the degree we love God.
Father, I am thankful You have offered all of us the opportunity to repent, be forgiven, and restored to our calling. Serving You is an outward expression of our love. My heart's desire is to love You more. I want to walk with You and listen to You. I want to know You and Your ways. I want to reach my full potential in the destiny You designed me to fulfill. I ask for Your presence in my life to be tangible. I ask for Your wisdom to be invested in me. I ask for Your kindness to be overflowing in my life. I ask for Your love to flow through me and touch the lives of those around me. I ask for courage to walk in the fullness of what You have for me. I ask for boldness to speak to others. I ask for Your love to be deposited in me every day. Your perfect love casts out all my fears. I will walk in the fullness of all You have for me to accomplish to expand Your kingdom. I pray for revival of hearts and minds to come to all people in America. I pray for the Word of God to go forth without hindrance. I pray for Your love to abound in our lives and overflow into the lives of those around us. I pray for the lies of the enemy to be cast down and under our feet. I pray for the truth of Your ways to be made known to all. Our country cannot be put back together without Your love. We need You to bring each people group to work together to rebuild America. We need those who can lead, organize, and administrate the clean up and rebuilding needed in our country. I pray for You to move on the people who have those gifts, talents, and authority to look to You, follow Your instruction, and lead us to rebuild America as one nation under God in Jesus' name amen.

My hope is for Believers in Jesus Christ to join together each day to pray, to push back the enemy as we release God’s power here on earth against the coronavirus, riots, and lies.
