Warriors Arise: September 7, 2023
Matthew 4:18 And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.
You are not invisible. With His heart full of compassion and pleasure, God sees you. He wants you and I to delight in all He has for us. He looks to see if we are receiving what He has given to us. Each day is a gift from God. We have a choice as to how we are going to spend the gift He has given us.
There have been times I didn't want God to see me. I was hoping God hadn't seen me. I wasn't in a good place. I wasn't doing the right thing. I wasn't honoring Him. Even though I didn't want Him to be looking my direction, He still saw me. He didn't look with haughty, judgmental eyes. He looked with eyes of compassion and love. He looked for my return.
He sees me in the lowest of choices as well as when I shine brightly because of His amazing light within me. His love for me never changes. When I have been at my lowest, He is praying I get back on track and return to Him so He can clean me up. When I have been shining brightly, releasing His love to others, He is beaming with pride. It is as if I can hear Him say to the angels, "Look, there is my daughter. Did you see what she had to do to get through that mess? I am so proud of her."
When the prodigal asks for his inheritance heading out on his own, away from the Father, the Father allow him to go. He never turns His back on His son. Matter-of-fact, when the son returns, the Father is the first one to see His son. He sees His son coming from a distance. The son doesn't even know the Father has seen him (Luke 15:21-35). The Father runs to him and completely restores him to his place in the family.
Do you know the Father sees you? He watches over you and for you. He anticipates when you will come to Him and spend time with Him. His love for you is without end. He is watching, listening and working things out for your good (Romans 8:28).
You are going about your day, just like Simon and Andrew, and God sees you. The question then becomes, do you see Him? Do you know He is there? Do you invite Him into all of your day?
Father, my mind is in awe of You coming to be a part of my day. You are present in my life. You desire for me to recognize Your presence and to be invited to be a part of what You are doing. I pray I will look for You and acknowledge Your presence in my day. I pray I would have eyes to see You and ears to hear You. I pray when You look my way, what You see will be pleasing to You in Jesus' name amen.
